Fabio Capello has said Wayne Rooney will play for England in tomorrow night’s Euro 2012 qualifier with Switzerland.

Rooney has been the subject to revelations about his nocturnal activities in the notorious News of the World.
Capello said: “He wil play. I spoke with him and monitored him for two days after the game against Hungary. He was good on the pitch and I hope his performance willbe the same at Wembley. His training was really good and he’s happy to play. The players know what they have to do during their private life – but it is private.”
As for his England v Switzerland team selection, he added: “I have to decide on the centre-back, between Cahill, Upson and Lescott (to replace the injured Michael Dawson).”
