WALES v SCOTLAND PREVIEW

The Wales side for this game looks a competitive one, even though manager Gary Speed has questioned the value of the competition. The game sees the return of Cardiff’s Craig Bellamy, plus Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessy and Aaron Ramsey. Their central defence is all Premier League this season, with Danny Gabbidon and Danny Collins playing. All in all, it looks a pretty decent side for what is an end of season friendly. You really can’t read too much into the Scotland match, as this team shows 10 changes.

There are changes for Northern Ireland too, but it’s more a swapping round from the 5-0 hammering from the Republic and they are losing Sammy Clingan and Rangers Steven Davis from midfield, two of the more experienced members of what was otherwise a relatively youthful side. The return of new WBA signing to Gareth McAuley though, is a significant boost to the central defensive area. Keeper Alan Blayney is also dropped. There is some pride to be restored after that 5-0 defeat, which is also a motivating factor.
