Wales: 6/4
England: 8/15
Draw: 20/1
There’s clearly no love lost between these two sides, and Wales do tend to raise their game against their most bitter of enemies whenever the Six Nations comes around.
However, they do look short on form when you look at their performances in the Autumn International series. The draw with Fiji was particularly painful. There are several changes in the side from the team beaten by New Zealand, some enforced, and that may disrupt what continuity there was in the back line. By singling out England’s Dylan Hartley for criticism, the Welsh are doing their best to deflect their own short comings.
England have also had to re-model their forwards, with Northampton’s Tom Wood making his international debut. In contrast, they showed some progress in the Autumn games, but their away record is generally patchy. The consensus is though that England have the more powerful pack, and they will probably try and use that to subdue initial Welsh fire and grind their way to victory.
