VIENNA TENNIS ODDS TITLE WINNER

2/1 Jurgen Melzer, 9/2 Marin Cilic, 11/2 Philipp Kohlschrbeiber, Marcos Baghdatis, 10/1 Nicolas Almagro, 11/1 Florian Mayer, 12/1 Guillermo Garcia Lopez

VIENNA TENNIS TITLE WINNER

This event looks like offering a week of very competitive tennis, with a 28-man draw for this long standing indoor event, which has been going since the 1970′s. Melzer, the title holder, is seeded to face a testing quarter-final against Philipp Kohlschreiber, but with the next quarter dominated by clay court players, he has a great chance of making the final.

In the bottom half off the draw second seed Marin Cilic has been in really poor form in the recent Asian tournaments and can’t really be trusted to make progress, even though Ernests Gulbis, has had to pull out. It means Thomas Muster will face another Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer.  Last week’s losing finalists, Marcos Baghdatis and Florian Mayer look due for a second round meeting, while the in-form Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, seeded 6, has a difficult looking opener with Michael Berrer, a player who really enjoys fast surfaces.

VIENNA TENNIS TIP

It’s not original to go for the number one seed, but the draw looks pretty kind for Melzer, so take the 2/1 with Betfred as the bottom half is full of minefields. Use the link to claim a free £50 bet.
