US OPEN TENNIS WOMEN PREVIEW

There’s no doubt the Caroline Wozniacki – Maria Sharapova match is the highlight of the last 16. Wozniacki has blitzed her way through her first three matches, dropping just three games in the process. Sharapova had a tough workout in Round One, but has looked comfortable otherwise. Wozniacki has dismissed her lower opponents then, but the doubts remain that she can beat the elite when it counts. Sharapova is good value at Evens with Skybet to perform a small upset in what should be a great match.

Yanina Wickmayer is hoping to be inspired by her return to Flushing Meadows after making the last four a year ago. Kaia Kanepi’s stock is rising after her good run at Wimbledon and she was happier in the conditions when she beat Jelena Jankovic in the last round. Kanepi is 8/11 with Stan James and should be backed. Use our links to claim your £25 free bet.

In the other two last 16 matches, the Russians both look good. Former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova should have a little too much power and mobility for Dominika Cibulkova, while Vera Zvonareva should comfortably end Andrea Petkovic’s good run.
