6/1 Grandouet, Sam Winner, Unaccompanied, 7/1 Zarkandar, 9/1 Smad Place, 10/1 A Media Luz, 11/1 Third Intention
The Triumph Hurdle is the 4-year-old hurdling championship, andwith just a season and often a couple of races to go on, it’s tough to predict. Grandouet is the likely favourite after his win last time out at Newbury, where he beat A Media Luz. Both are trained by Nicky Henderson, who is looking for three straight triumphs. Grandouet has been beaten earlier in the season. Sam Winner has already beaten Grandouet at Cheltenham, and so must be considered a live contender.
Unaccompanied is the leading Irish contender, with form at the highest level and must be respected, while Third Intention looks like he can improve on his previous runs, but he needs good ground to show at his best. In contrast, Smad Place might like it soft.
One horse who does look like he could be worth a shot here is Zarkandar, even though it’s just his second start over hurdles. He beat another of today’s runner’s Molotof in that race and the form has already received a boost with the third that day running well in the Fred Winter Hurdle.
Zarkandar is the one to back. Get on him at 7/1 with Betfred by using our link and you can claim a free bet of up to £50.
