SWISS OPEN TENNIS, GSTAAD, THURSDAY ODDS (SELECTED MATCHES)

Mikhail Youzhny (3/100) vAlexander Sadecky (8/1)

Jeremy Chardy (11/25) v Jarkko Nieminen (79/50)

Michael Lammer (17/2) v Nicolas Almagro (1/50)

MIKHAIL YOUZHNY v ALEXANDER SADECKY

Youzhny is ranked inside the top 20, while Sadecky, the local wild card has justified his special entry with a win in Round One – he has a world ranking outside the top 400. The two usually operate on different levels and you can’t see this match going any other way.

JEREMY CHARDY v JARKKO NIEMINEN

The tightest match on the featued courts, with improving Frenchman Chardy up against the Finnish veteran Nieminen. Chardy knocked out Paul-Henri Mathieu to no one’s surprise, while Nieminen survived a 3-set match with Thiago Alves of Brazil. Although Nieminen has won their only meeting, Chardy has improved since then and we fancy him to make it into the last 8, though it might take him 3 sets. Chardy is 11/25 with BWin to progress.

MICHAEL LAMMER v NICOLAS ALMAGRO

Another meeting of might versus minnow as Almagro, the Swedish Open winner takes on Swiss wild card Lammer. Lammer did well to beat the big hitting Jamaican Dustin Brown in his first match, but Brown does not get good results on clay. Almagro does, and surely must here. He’s worth backing at 1/5 with BWin for a straight sets victory.
