These two have scared away most of their rivals, but frankly, who cares with the excitement in prospect.

4/6 Frankel, 11/8 Canford Cliffs, 28/1 Rajsaman, 50/1 Rio de la Plata
So this should be some serious fun. Can Frankel blaze a trail effectively as he loves to do, or will he get picked off by Canford Cliffs late on? Frankel has the advantage of 8lb weight for age allowance, but he didn’t look quite so impressive in his last race, the St.James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, where jockey Tom Queally came in for some criticism for letting the horse blast off into space. With just four runners, it seems certain that nothing will stop Frankel setting off at that express pace and trying to burn the finish out of his three rivals here. It says everything about the impression he has made that he’s favourite here.
Canford Cliffs looked superb at Royal Ascot with his one length win over Goldikova, a mighty scalp to add to his CV. He’s won his last six races and is still the pre-eminent miler in training with a great turn of foot. Trainer Richard Hannon seems thoroughly relaxed about how the race could unfold, saying he’s happy to leave it to jockey Richard Hughes to determine how the race unfolds. It’s interesting to note he won this race last year, with the help of that weight allowance which Frankel benefits from.
Rajmasan and Rio De la Plata are both well held by Canford Cliffs on form lines.
