With Harry Redknapp back in the dugout and things rolling nicely, there is much for Spurs to be encouraged about. Their form is hugely impressive in the league wins 7 wins and a draw from their last 8 games, and there’s no concern of a Europa League game having an impact here. Rafael van der Vaart should recover from a hamstring injury in time to face Aston Villa. Vedran Corluka is expected to overcome an ankle problem but Tom Huddlestone and Michael Dawson are still out. Spurs have been scoring freely, have been positive, and look set to meet a Villa side who will sit in and stifle them and rely on Darren Bent for breakaway goals. He may still be keen to remind Harry Redknapp of his goalscoring prowess.
This is a start of a testing run of matches for Villa, who will have to show more than that likely Alex McLeish defensiveness and resilience. The ground may not offer happy memories for him either having taken charge of Birmingham there on the day they were relegated.
