The Singapore Grand Prix Odds naturally have Sebastian Vettel at a short price as he claimed pole position again on his way to an apparently inevitable World Championship.

The German may have his detractors but no-one can match him consistently in the Red Bull at present.

SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX PREVIEW

Vettel produced a dominant performance in qualifying to earn himself as such a short price as the race winner. He had just over 0.3 of a second to spare over team mate Mark Webber, and almost half a second over the two McLaren drivers, with Jenson Button qualifying ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

Vettel’s main ability has been to lead from the front, and with some security being provided by Webber behind him, he looks in a great place to get away to a decent start from the grid and dictate how the race unfolds. He also can clinch the title if things go his way. He clearly will, but it would be nice to wrap it up. This makes Mark Webber less of a threat as presumably he will be given Vettel assisting duties.

The two McLaren drivers produced closely matched times, with Fernando Alonso just behind. It also seems quite likely that they will get involved in a three way-fight, at least initially, making it even more likely that Vettel will sprint off into the Singapore floodlights. The way the grid has unfolded, with team-mates next to each other, also suggest that driver input is finite on the circuit.

In short, it’s very hard to see beyond Vettel bar mechanical failure.
