11/10 Camelot, 15/8 Fencing, 5 Encke, 13/2 Zip Top, 11/1 Learn, 22/1 Talwar
Camelot’s breeding and background, as much as his proven ability make him favourite. He’s trained by Aidan O’Brien, cost a fortune and is sired by Montjeu. He did win his only start easily, but his form is impossible to read really – with the horses he beat that day not showing much since. His main rival in the betting is Fencing, who won a nice listed race at Newbury last time out. He should enjoy the extra distance after that seven furlong victory.
Encke also has room for improvement on his third start afte his win at Newmarket. Talwar and Zip Top look a little more exposed than some of their rivals, and perhaps a little short of the quality needed to win this event. Learn is expected to be held by stable mate Camelot.
This is a difficult race to gauge when a lot of betting is based on reputation, but that means there can be value.
We like Fencing @ 15/8 with Paddy Power as he mixes good form with potential compared to Camelot. Use our link to back him and you can claim up to £50 in free bets!
