The Premier League transfer window is shutting, and we’ll bring you news of the different deals as they come through.
You can check out how they are affecting the title odds on Betfair here – they’ll be changing minute by minute during the day!
The first confirmed deal so far is striker Marcus Bent‘s move from Birmingham to Wolves – he has joined on loan until January.
Croatian international keeper Stipe Pletikosa has completed a season long loan to Spurs – just as well after Carlo Cudicini’s efforts versus Wigan Athletic.
Blackpool have dug into the lower divisions again signing Wycombe’s England under-21 winger Matt Phillips for £325,000 plus possible future payments. That looks a good piece of work to us, while striker D.J.Campbell has signed on a permanent basis after being a big hit on loan.
Liverpool’s long expected move for Paul Konchesky has gone through. The left back is confirmed at Anfield. Lauri Dalla Valle and Alex Kacaniklic go the other way.
Czech Republic international centre-back Martin Jiranek has joined Birmingham City from Spartak Moscow, while midfielder Alexander Hleb has completed his season long loan from Barcelona. Birmingham have also brought in Chilean international winger Jean Beausejour
Salif Diao has returned to Stoke and Manchester United winger Tom Cleverley has gone to Wigan on a season long loan after a good spell with Watford.
Spanish under 19 striker Rodrigo Moreno has joined Bolton for the season on loan.
Sunderland have bought Ghana’s World Cup striker Asamoah Gyan for an undisclosed, but club record fee. Yes, our eyebrows went up as well.
Eidur Gudjohnsen and Jermaine Pennant have completed loan moves to Stoke.
WBA have signed the Rochdale centre-half Craig Dawson and then loaned him back to Dale for the season.
The biggest move out was Robinho heading to AC Milan. Liverpool got shot of Emilano Insua, while Armand Traore is also on his way out of Arsenal.
Deals that might have happened but didnt – apparently – were Carlton Cole to Liverpool and Robbie Keane to almost anywhere.
I cant see there being any massive deals today. There has been nothing surprising or impressive so far.
