NEWCASTLE v ARSENAL PREVIEW

After five years without a trophy, and people banging on it ad nauseam, Arsenal look keen on taking down the Carling Cup. Having put out a good side to see off Spurs – reasons of local pride involved of course – the word seems to be that Arsene Wenger will look to put out a decent team. Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott, both coming back from injuries, look likely to be involved. The win against Manchester City was comprehensive, taking advantage of the extra man.

Newcastle, in contrast, could well make changes throwing in Nile Ranger, Shane Ferguson and others, but Sol Campbell, disappointingly, won’t be fit. Their win at West Ham has taken some of the pressure off in terms of their main focus, Premier League survivial, so they perhaps won’t be as afraid of putting in youngsters here as they might have been after a defeat. That young side did upset Chelsea who had put some young players in their team.
