5/1 Rory McIlroy, 6/1 Phil Mickelson, 14/1 K.J.Choi, Tiger Woods, Matt Kuchar, Alvaro Quiros, 20/1 Paul Casey, Y.E.Yang
Rory McIlroy (-7) is one of the late starters after his 65 and it’s no surprise he has moved to the head of the market after his sparking 65. We have yet to see the Ulsterman put it together for all four rounds of a major though and the lesson may be learned from his disastrous second round at The Open after being in the same position, while this is a new position for Alvaro Quiros (-7), who is a solid foot soldier of the European tour.
The Korean Challenge looks strong with K.J.Choi and Y.E.Yang (both -5). Choi has a fondness for Augusta and has every chance of another decent finish, while we continue to believe Yang is a major winner who simply does not get the respect he deserves and he, like Choi, can last the course.
Matt Kuchar and Ricky Barnes lead the way for the home challenge at -4 and among those at -3 are Ross Fisher, Sergio Garcia, and the former, injury ravaged champion Trevor Immelman, who is worth a look if he can last the four rounds without something getting tweaked or breaking.
Of other notable names Phil Mickelson and Paul Casey are -2 and Tiger Woods is at -1, but still not looking comfortable.
We suggest you invest some money in K.J.Choi at 14/1 with Betfred and Trevor Immelman at 40/1 with Betfred – both are confirmed lovers of Augusta and they are more than capable of producing good finishes at the very least.
