MANCHESTER CITY v ARIS SALONIKA PREVIEW

City go into this game fresh off the back of their 5-0 FA Cup win over Notts County, where they did some squad rotation.and gave one or two players a small break. Now they face Aris, who are known for their strong home form, but not so much as travellers. James Milner, Nigel de Jong and Adam Johnson are among the players missing, but Mario Balotelli should play despite a clash of heads last week and you suspect he ought to enjoy European competition more than the domestic leagues or cup clashes with lower divison sides. They certainly have enough squad depth anyway.

As for Aris, it has been a disappointing season, with their decent run in this competition perhaps the highlight, as they sit in the middle of the Greek First Division. They also played on Sunday, so turnaround time is limited. City looked the more likely side in Greece, and it is not easy to see where Salonika can hurt them.
