Kevin Pietersen dropped by England – says the man himself

England batsman Kevin Pietersen dropped is the big story coming ahead of the annoucement of the England one day side.

The source is the man himself, via his official Twitter page.

His post read:

Yep.. Done for rest of summer!! Man of the World Cup T20 and dropped from the T20 side too.. Its a f**k up!! Surrey have signed me (and there it cuts off)

Pietersen has struggled badly over recent weeks, admitting to suffering mentally after losing the England captaincy. He made a first ball duck againt Pakistan, with his shot selection widely criticised. England have already tried to tighten players using Twitter, but it seems those with strong views will make them known.

Hampshire have been unwilling to play Pietersen, so we wait to see whether or not Surrey have been able to sign him on loan so he can get much needed practice before the Ashes. The squad announcement has already been put back to 5pm.
