11/8 Rafael Nadal, 2/1 Andy Murray, 10/1 Mardy Fish, 14/1 David Ferrer, 25/1 Janko Tipsarevic, Radek Stepanek, 28/1 Bar
Rafael Nadal plays his first tournament of the Asian swing here, and so may be a little more vulnerable than usual going into the big end of season events in Beijing and the Masters Cup. He was beaten by Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in Bangkok around this time last year and is never at his most content at this time of the season. He has a nice gentle opener against local wild card Go Soeda and a probable second round match with Milos Raonic, who is easing himself back to fitness. His quarter and semi-final opponents, Mardy Fish and Janko Tipsarevic, look much more challenging, and Nadal can be taken on here.
At the bottom of the draw Andy Murray has a testing opener against Marcos Baghdatis, who made last week’s Kuala Lumpur final and beat him in Rotterdam. He has a possible quarter final with Juan Monaco and David Nalbandian, and David Ferrer is scheduled to meet him in the last four. It looks a kinder path than Nadal has.
Mardy Fish has not got the best draw either with Ernests Gulbis or Lukasz Kubot his next opponent. Viktor Troicki is the other seed here. David Nalbandian, sadly, is probably not fit enough to make an impact here.
We like Mardy Fish here – he has a win over Nadal already this year and represents each way value at 10/1 with VC Bet – use our link and you can claim a free £25 bet too!
