Day 4 of Glorious Gooodwood has two main features, the Totesport Mile, a fiendishly tricky 20 runner handicap – and the Richmond Stakes, a contest for two year olds.

Here’s our look ahead to the two big races.
A 20-runner field has been declared for this, but two of them, Dunn’o and Coasting are non-runners, leaving just the 18 to try and sift through to find the winner. Sea Lord is a deserved favourite after his win at Newmarket last time out. He carries a penalty for that, but at just three he could be improving and the form of the race has held up well.
Oasis Dancer had a go at the Irish 2000 Guineas but that proved one step beyond. However, it does suggest owner and trainer hold him in some regard and he could be getting better too.
Invisible Man won the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot. The 4-year-old has a lot of weight to carry and blinkers helped him improve. We’ll see if they have the same effect.
Marajaa has lots going for him though. He is racing at a mile, which should suit him compared to some outings over 7 furlongs. He has won at the quirky Goodwood track before and he got no sort of run in the Royal Hunt Cup so he can be forgiven not going well there. He looks a good each way investment at 8/1 with Bet 365
11/8 Libranno, 7/2 Marine Commando, The Paddyman, 9/1 Roayh, 10/1 Satin Love, 14/1 The Long Game
There’s just a field of 6 two-year-olds for this six furlong Group 2 Contest. Libranno is a warm favourite after two victories out of two so far including the July Stakes. He has to carry 3lb more than his rivals as a result. Marine Commando was victorious at Royal Ascot, while Roayh is part of the Godolphin stable. The Paddyman really could be anything after what looks a good win in a maiden race at Yarmouth, while Satin Love has just won a maiden race at Hamilton.
It’s always a puzzle with these two year old races, but Libranno at 11/8 with Bet 365 looks good enough to defy the extra weight he has to carry.
