9/2 Opinion Poll, 11/2 Manighar, 7/1 Fox Hunt, 10/1 Tastahil, 11/1 Chiberta King, 12/1 Bar
It’s unusual to see one of the prestige staying prizes have quite so many runners, with 15 going to post – frankly it feels a bit more like the Ebor than anything else. Opinion Poll is generally a narrow favourite wherever you look, and that’s based on his very honourable second to Fame & Glory in the Gold Cup at Roual Ascot over four furlongs longer. The trouble is he tends to do close but no cigar pretty well, having been placed in the top four, but not won, in his last seven outings.
Manighar, a grey, also hasn’t won for a while eithr, and was behind Opinion Poll in the Gold Cup. He’s now 5 and hasn’t tasted victory sine his three year old days. Fox Hunt has been running in goo handicaps and now steps up into staying and group class. Doing both is a big ask at once, while tastahil is eported to be fine after being pulled up in the Gold Cup. Before that he was behind Overturn in the Chester Cup. Chiberta King is not bred to stay but defied that with a win in a two mile listed ae at Sandown, and in fact, there are questions over most of the field.
Given this, Red Cadeaux has prospets that make him a useful propositionat tempting odds, having won at the Curragh and performed honourably with large weights in handicaps, he’s worth a punt.
Red Cadeaux offers good each-way value at 12/1 with Stan James. Use our link to back him and you can claim a free £25 bet.
