Evs Binocular, 5/2 Overturn, 3/1 Celestial Halo, 66/1 Stormy Weather, 100/1 Kosta Brava
Binocular is obviously a class act at his best, but traditionally he does seem to need his first run of the season. His last outing was defeat at Punchestown after being tried over two and a half miles at Aintree. He’s an understandably short priced favourite given his quality, but he does face a rival of some quality in Overturn.
He doesn’t have a huge amount to make up with Binocular on his best form and will be fresher for that facile win he produced in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot. A fast run two miles wouldn’t do him any harm either, where as it might make Binocular sweat.
The third genuine contender is Celestial Halo who had a comfortable win in his season opener at Wincanton, conceding weight all round, but he might just be a pound or two short of the two main ones here.
We just can’t see Stormy Weather and Kosta Brava getting involved.
It looks as if Overturn is the value here, back him at 5/2 with Paddy Power – use our link and you can claim a free bet of up to £50.
