EVERTON v BIRMINGHAM CITY PREVIEW

Just when Everton look they might like being drawn into trouble, they pulled off their traditional win at Manchester City. Mikael Artta is back, but Victor Anichebe is suspended and they could also be missing Phil Jagielka through injury, plus Steven Pienaar and Johnny Heitinga. Everton also have the encouragement of winning 2-0 at St.Andrew’s earlier in the season. Their victory at Eastlands ended a seven match barren run.

Birmingham welcome back Liam Ridgewell, part of their consistent defence last season, and may have Alex Hleb back. They offered little in their defeat at Wolves in their last game, and have yet to record a win away from home. Goals are the problem, and they hope Robbie Keane is the solution, but for now that will have to wait. This has all the likelihood of being a conservative spectacle.
