4/6 Sebastian Vettel, 7/2 Lewis Hamilton, 6/1 Mark Webber, 8/1 Fernando Alonso, 16/1 Jenson Button, 50/1 Bar
The thing that was meant to change the pecking order in Formula One was a change between the electronics in the engines for qualifying and racing. It didn’t for qualifying, with Red Bull taking that front row, though one or two final runs were aborted thanks to a late incident.
There’s little to be read into the Canadian Grand Prix thanks to the frequent use of the safety car and freak weather conditions, so it’s probably safe to dismiss Jenson Button from calculations. Hamilton is also a difficult proposition at the current odds, given his propensity to get involved in crashes. He could very easily change the complexion of the race with an early move on the fringes of acceptability. Vettel was on pole here last year, and went on to score a comfortable victory.
Mark Webber hasn’t looked on the same level so far as Vettel, and could easily be vulnerable on the opening laps. Fernando Alonso is perhaps the best alternative to Vettel here. He wasn’t too far behind Lewis Hamilton in qualifying and may well have the ability to exploit any mistakes by the leaders. He’s the one value alternative.
Vettel may score another race win, but back Fernando Alonso @ 8/1 with Betfred to pick up the pieces. Use our link and you will get your stake back if Alonso finishes 2nd to Lewis Hamilton!
