England: 11/10
Australia: 8/11
So on to game 4 at Adelaide, where England have further problems here with the absence of Graeme Swann, who has been ruled out through injury, but they do have James Anderson back and involved. England’s main problem though, has been a struggle with their batting, where they have relied on most of the Ashes winning squad. Mental tiredness may be the net result and that could perhaps be the problem more so than the actual bowlers they are facing – although that may underplay the abilities of Brett Lee and Shaun Tait. Kevin Pietersen does come back into the side.
Australia don’t need to make significant changes, with Michael Clarke showing some form and David Hussey answering his critics with some good performances. Their bowling is also more threatening at one day than test level. The toss will remain a key part of the game though, those batting first in day nighters go on to win the match roughly two-thirds of the time.
