5/2 Twice Over, 4/1 Cape Blanco, 10/1 Gio Ponti, 10/1 Buena Vista, Poet’s Voice, Victoire Pisa, 12/1 Bar
The field is headed by Twice Over. He’s drawn out wide, but this should not be a huge disadvantage. He looked very good in his prep race, but did lose in this event last year and his price is quite short. He has been trained specifically for this race by Henry Cecil who says he is in better form now. The main concern for Cape Blanco is that Aidan O’Brien horses have struggled a little in long distance journeys which might be a concern. last year’s Irish Derby winner was well down the field for the Arc and looks a little tight in the odds.
Buena Vista is the Japanese horse of the year who has won 5 grade one races, and was disqualified harshly in winning the Japan Gold Cup. If we trust she is Victoire Pisa beat her at Nakayama, but she has every chance of avenging that defeat and will have a real chance of she takes to the dirt track.
Golden Sword seems to have improved on dirt under South African track Michael de Kock and is worth considering as an outsider.
Buena Vista looks the value with the UK & Irish market leaders quite short. Back Buena Vista at 10/1 with Betfred by using our link. You can also claim a free £50 bet!
