CHINA GP ODDS

4/9 Sebastian Vettel (1st on grid), 9/2 Jenson Button (2nd), Lewis Hamilton (3rd), 20/1 Fernando Alonso (5th), 33/1 Nico Rosberg (4th), 50/1 Mark Webber (18th)

CHINA GP PREVIEW

We wait to see who can slow down Sebastian Vettel, even though things do seem tighter between the Red Bull team and the McLaren team. Vettel had a whopping (by F1 standards) 0.715 seconds in hand on his nearest rivals and if he can show anything like that speed at race pace and conserve his tyres, it’s really his to lose. Jenson Button also had a time well ahead of Lewis Hamilton and we are waiting for Button’s gentle, tyre conserving style to pay dividends in this year of pit stops and tyre wear. The McLaren has also undergone some improvements with the floor and exhaust.

Nico Rosberg showed some potential for Mercedes with a 4th place qualifying, while the two Ferraris continue to lack race pace with Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa more than a second behind the Vettel mobile. Mark Webber’s electrical problems mean he starts way down the grind and surely can’t win bar rain and the most freakish circumstances.

Paul di Resta’s top 10 qualifying effort (he’s 8th for Force India) also deserves credit.

CHINA GP TIP

Vettel is too short to back profitably, so a saver on Jenson Button at 9/2 with Betfred is good value! Use our link and if you back him and Lewis Hamilton wins, by the way, Betfred will refund all losing outright bets!
