Oosthuizen is well clear of the field, while Tiger Woods looks to be too far back for even one of his famous charges.
- 15 Louis Oosthuizen (10/11 with Bet 365)
-7 Henrik Stenson (25/1) , Alejandro Canizales (40/1), Lee Westwood (12/1)
-5 Nick Watney (150/1), Sean O’Hair (150/1), Retief Goosen (100/1), Ricky Barnes (150/1)
Louis Oosthuizen kept it together well in Round Three with that clear lead, shooting a 69. Though he has won on the European Tour, the final round of a major is a totally new level of pressure for him. He’s kept it simple and his basic plan of keeping out of the sand and grinding it out is working well for him. He hit two birdies on the final three holes. The one concern is that he showed nerves on the opening hole. He’s 10/11 with Bet 365 and the event is his to lose. He said: “If you stay in the moment you are fine.”
Paul Casey has long been touted as a player who can win a major, but his record in them is poor for a man that highly rated and ranked until today. The English player moved into contention though with an excellent 67, to become 9/4 with Bet 365.
The man to watch though is the German Martin Kaymer. Kaymer has 5 European tour wins to his credit and is known as a man who can close out events when in a good position. He did well in the breeze despite saying “Every single shot was very difficult and I really enjoy those conditions.” He still carded a 68 in the breeze. At 12/1 with Bet 365 he is the value in the final round. Especially if Oosthuizen falters, he’s worth taking advantage of in the in-play markets.
There are concerns on the fitness of Lee Westwood, while Henrik Stenson looks just too far back. As for Tiger Woods, he suffered too much in Round Three with missed puts. He said: “I couldn’t get anything started and I hit the ball better than I had in the first two days.” He hit a 73 and is -3, yet just 80/1 with Bet 365
We await to see how the final day unfolds – don’t forget to take advantage of the changes hole-by-hole with Bet 365′s in play markets!
