5/4 Sebastian Vettel, 7/4 Mark Webber, 100/30 Fernando Alonso, 14/1 Felipe Massa, Jenson Button, 16/1 Lewis Hamilton
With qualifying breaking away from the usual pattern and the re-modelling of the Silverstone circuit, there is some welcome element of uncertainty as to how the British Grand Prix might unfold compared to recent editions. Through in the possibility of the odd rain shower, and further anarchy could ensue.
In it’s older or newer forms, Mark Webber seems to have some affinity for Silverstone, after his win here last year “not bad for a number two driver” as you might recall, and his pole this time round. If he can get a clean start, we would still expect to see the two Red Bulls dominate the race despite the ruling hanges that seem designed to get them closer to the rest of the field. It would take major problems or safety car mayhem to cost them.
Ferrari have taken up the second row, suggesting that they may have the edge on McLaren for race-pace, leaving Fernando Alonso as the most likely man to mop up any mistakes. Jenson Button is in fifth place, with Paul Di Resta continuing to shine with his 6th place. He might yet be each way value at the monster price of 250/1.
As for Lewis Hamilton, the odds against him having an accident should be high, even though there has been some recent defence of his driving style.
