Borussia Dortmund swept to the German title last season, with Mario Goetze looking the outstanding young German player in the Bundesliga. A surprise defeat by Hertha Berlin has left them in the bottom half of the table after five games, although both their wins have been at home. Captain Nuri Sahin was also sold to Real Madrid. They do play a style that aspires to be that of Barcelona, a fast passing, quick movement game which also involves pressing high up the pitch. Arsenal laboured to a 1-0 win over promoted Swansea at the weekend and remain without important players such as Jack Wilshere and now Aaron Ramsey. It’ll be up to Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun to perform well back at this level, and Tomas Rosicky is also missing against his former club. Arsene Wenger is serving a further touchline ban here, so his influence might be limited. Most things seem to be stacked against them.
