Neither side is in the very best of form, with Bolton having only beaten York City since Christmas. Wanderers have new signing David Wheater ready to make his debut, with Stuart Holden and Gretar Steinsson both hoping to be fit. Holden has been an important part of Wanderers success so far and has been missed. Should we be surprised they have dipped a bit with one or two injuries?
Chelsea also have a significant injury – Frank Lampard has a calf problem. This is a major blow after they started to show some signs of momentum with victories over Ipswich and Blackburn, where they rediscovered some semblance of form in the second half. One thing Chelsea do have is a psychological edge over Bolton – they haven’t lose to Wanderers in their last 14 encounters.
