The Formula One World Championship could swing on what happens in the Belgian GP, with the expectation the last rounds of the championship will be dominated by Red Bull.

The saying goes into every life a little rain must fall. That’s pretty much a certainty at Spa-Francorchamps, the Belgian circuit cutting through the Ardennes, where some parts of the circuit can be dry and others soaked. There is doubt as to whether or not rain will hit on race day, with the forecasts suggesting that it might not, or if it does, it could just be brief and sporadic. Or it could bucket down.
Most neutrals will be looking for some kind of rain based mayhem to add further unpredictability to events, with Hamilton’s wet weather prowess propelling him to the top of the betting. While rain might help McLaren, we wonder if it might be good for the Red Bulls too, as they generate the most downforce.
Robert Kubica’s presence in the second row in the Renault also adds some intrigue. With the arrival of an F-duct to improve aerodynamics they have leapt to prominence. Kubica feels that catching the Red Bulls is beyond him though – he could put a big dent in Vettel’s title hopes if he can keep him at bay in the opening few laps.
Jenson Button’s neat driving style may not work at the best in the damp, while Ferrari’s hopes, or Fernando Alonso’s look to have gone with some bad tyre choices in qualifying to leave him 10th on the grid. Timo Glock and Sebastien Buemi have both received grid penalties for qualifying infringements.
