ARSENAL v WIGAN PREVIEW

Arsenal have been pretty ambitious when it comes to the Carling Cup, fielding stronger sides than in previous years, as they did in their impressive win over Newcastle in the last round. There’s no Cesc Fabregas or Sebastien Squillachi tonight but they still have a range of quality players who can feature in the starting line up. Robin van Persie is a questionable starter due to an ankle problem.

Wigan have a decent record in this competition and defender Antonin Alcaraz back, but they were powder puff against West Ham and need to improve here, even despite the occasional frailties the Gunners have shown in losing their last two games.

ARSENAL v WIGAN TIP

After opening up that lead against Aston Villa, Arsenal looked a little vulnerable, but they should outscore Wigan. Back a 3-1 Arsenal win at 10/1 with Betfred by clicking on this link – and get a free £50 bet too!
