Arsenal’s stock is on the up again after an uncertain spell. While they faced 10 men at Eastlands against Manchester City, they dismissed them in ruthless fashion, keeping possession impressively and finishing their chances. A mixed side did that at Newcastle too, with Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott getting pitch and scoring time. Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere will sit this one out though. Arsenal have an excellent record against the Hammers, depth on the bench, and signs of competence from Lukasz Fabianksi. The good times appear to be rolling.
West Ham were poor in their defeat by Newcastle and sit at the bottom of the table, with manager Avram Grant saying this is perhaps their hardest game of the season – which is reflected in the odds on them winning. Matthew Upson is struggling to be fit and the useful Frederic Piquionne is not expected to make it either. The truth is it’s not obvious what weapons the Hammers really have to make an impact here – at least you could see WBA causing a threat at the Emirates through Odemwingie and Brunt.
The Gunners are 8/15 with Betfred on the -1 goal handicap, which they should overcome. Also, back Marouane Chamakh to score twice or more – he’ll be fresh and he’s value at 100/30 with Betfred. Just use the links to place your bets – and get a free £50 bet as well!
