Arsenal, after that slow start, are now racking up wins with a consistency that has actually been missing for a couple of seasons. It’s five league wins in a row going into this game and the goals from Robin Van Persie are coming in ridiculous amounts. They can also enjoy the feeling of being the only English side guaranteed a place in the Champions League knock out stages. Alex Song has also grown in stature to provide an important shield in front of the back four, and we believe it won’t be that long before Per Mertesacker proves his worth – Norwich mistakes apart.
Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky are both fit enough to involved, with Diaby slowly coming back from injury. Arsenal also have an imperious record over Fulham, having never lost to them at home in their history.
We’re not convinced by Fulham under Martin Jol yet – they might be in the handy place of knowing that two teams, Blackburn and Wigan, are showing signs of being a degree worse than anyone else. They are missing Stephen Kelly, and frustratingly Damien Duff. Whoever has been manager, they have struggled away from home as a rule, and Cottagers fans were not that impressed by one of those rare away wins, at Wigan. They may hope to pinch something from free kicks and corners.
We can’t see past Arsenal here and a 3-1 Gunners win is a teasing 10/1 with Paddy Power – they are doing a way too generous offer too. If Robin van Persie opens the scoring Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.
