So an exciting final lies in wait, with Djokovic having looked in excellent form on his run to the final, with his straight sets win over Roger Federer and his dismissal of Tomas Berdych before that. In contrast, Murray laboured a little in his semi-final win over David Ferrer, but when he ramped up the aggression he was able to grind out a victory.
The two have met often enough, all the way up from the juniors, with Murray actually having the better of their last three meetings on hard courts. Murray could also have an advantage with the conditions. If it’s hot, even though its an evening game, this should favour the British number one. He goes through gruelling training in Miami, while Djokovic has struggled in the heat in the past.
However, the Serb looks to be hitting the ball so crisply, and he does have a chameleon like ability to be able to deal with his opponent. He also seems a more mature player over the past few months, making the US Open final and then helping Serbia to the Davis Cup. He’s ready to deal with this mentally.
