1/12 Andy Murray v Alejandro Falla 6/1
1/3 Sam Querrey v Rainer Schuettler 9/4
5/4 Janko Tipsarevic v Marcos Baghdatis 8/13
Evens Feliciano Lopez v James Blake 4/5
Murray had to shake off some rust in his opening match, as you would expect for a man who had not played since Wimbledon and who had also had the dramas with former coach Miles Maclagan to contend with. His serve was not at it’s best but he did get there. In contrast, Falla got a good three set win over Ernests Gulbis to make the last eight and gave Roger Federer problems at Wimbledon. Murray to win in three sets looks a decent bet at 100/30 with Betfred
Second seed Querrey got the expected tough workout against Kevin Anderson in Round Two, but came through, while Schuettler, the wrong side of 30. Schuettler scored a good looking win over Robby Ginepri in the last round, but his star seems to be on the wane. Querrey should win this at 1/3 with Betfred
A very difficult match to call, with Tipsarevic blowing so hot and cold at different times in his opening two matches. Baghdatis really had to work hard to beat Ryan Sweeting in his opener, while Tipsarevic has looked both brilliant and mediocre in his opening two matches. If the Serb can get his serve going, he might just be able to edge through in a tight contest at 5/4 with Betfred
There are signs of a James Blake revival at last after his flurry of injuries, but Lopez is that rare thing, a Spaniard who is happy on harder and faster surfaces. Lopez won their last meeting on hard courts and looks the better value of the two players here, as long as he can get his serve and volley game up and running. He is Even Money with Betfred to win.
