Akinfenwa rolls into Kent – Football League Review

Giant striker Adebayo Akinfenwa is usually easy to spot, and a reliable source of goals.

After leaving Northampton Town he’s agreed to join Gillingham.

He’s one of the men on the move in our daily Football League Review.

CHAMPIONSHIP NEWS

Crystal Palace have signed a goalkeeper, with ex-Derby and Brentford man Lewis Price moving to Selhurst Park.

LEAGUE ONE NEWS

Tranmere Rovers have made theri second signing of the week, with 19-year-old Sheffield Wednesday defender Nik Wood signing up.

Yeovil Town continue their squad re-shaping with the arrival of  teenage striker Craig Calver, released by Southend United.

Swindon Town have had their second bid accepted for Celtic full back Paul Caddis and Simon Ferry, the midfielder who had a good loan spell at the County Ground last season, but the pair still haven’t done the personal terms bit.

LEAGUE TWO NEWS

So Gillingham have Akinfenwa on board, a big boost for them. Though he might look like a giant, he’s effective with his back to goal and will weigh in with his fair share of goals too.

Stockport County have brought in Plymouth striker George Donnelly back for a second loan spell. His main asset is his pace.

Goalkeeper Ben Smith has joined Shrewsbury Town, while Huddersfield defender Jack Hunt has joined Chesterfield. Heading out of the Derbyshire club is Martin Gritton, with the striker heading back to the West Country to join Torquay United.
