Accrington Stanley v Newcastle is the televised Second Round Carling Cup tie on Wednesday. Newcastle are a best priced 8/15 to win this tie in 90 minutes.

A trip to the Crown Ground though, has its own unique charms. Check out the full Betfair odds here before you place a bet, you might well find some value!

Stanley have started the season well in League Two, but they face a Newcastle United side on a high after their dismissal of Aston Villa.

It does actually make for an interesting Cup tie.

ACCRINGTON STANLEY v NEWCASTLE PREVIEW

Forget all the patronising guff you will hear about Accrington Stanley. Their manager John Coleman does a great job on a tiny budget and seems to have managed to produce a competitive team this season despite losing his two main goalscorers. The Crown Ground does feel like a non-league venue. Sportnewsbase staff have ventured there. It’s tiny, the pitch is not even by any means and the changing rooms pretty much are Portakabins. This might be a huge asset for Stanley – it could be very easy for Newcastle’s players to see the plce and not adopt the correct mind set.

Newcastle are also expected to make several changes. Keeper Tim Krul, a promising performer, is expected to play, but having some of the youngsters might add the necessary degree of hunger to come through. We would be very surprised though, to see another rout.

Best Bet: Nile Ranger to score first is 17/2 with Victor Chandler – you can claim up to £50 in free bets with them, so get on!
